The Roger Vivier woman is delightfully eccentric this season. Embellishing her look with accessories inspired by decadently decorative elements, it is as if she had borrowed the finest details from her interior decor to create her accessories collection.

But, what is it that makes Roger Vivier’s collections so continuously irresistible and undeniably iconic? Let’s throw it back to 1937 when the accessories maestro founded his eponymous label in Paris. Fashion power houses such as Balmain and Nina Ricci were all dying to work with the new label and it has been thriving ever since. In 1953 a footwear collaboration with Christian Dior for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II would allow him to create the very shoes for her Royal Coronation, securing the label’s prestigious main stay status.

Fast-forward to the FW17 collection, and it’s clear to see the house of Vivier’s timeless appeal in its fullest form. 1960s inspired perfect-square block heel courts and classic clutch bags take shape in sumptuous silks, pleasing palettes and prints. Meanwhile, strong signature accents and audacious adornments including dazzling crystal embellished buckles and fabulous feathers, provide the ultimate luxury update to classic silhouettes.
